Small & experimental,
we love making alcohol.

We blend traditional distillation on copper pot stills, with charred casks, using adventurous mash-bills from our brewery roots. The goal: incredible liquid.

We are proud to have won a Gold Medal for our new-make spirit from the World Whisky Masters 2025.

Our first release of single malt is coming soon, with 1,000 numbered bottles, in time for Christmas 2027.

As a village distillery, we don’t have any production targets to meet.

We ferment and distil whatever we like: from lager to whisky. Everything is made by hand, here in Grasmere, with good quality ingredients.

And, from 2024, our copper pot stills are running on used vegetable oil, recycled from our tap room. We are now 100% powered by green renewable energy!

Finally, we are also part of this community. Grasmere is our home. We live and work here. The money that you spend with us isn’t sent to a big corporation: it helps the Lake District economy.

With some old stainless tanks, friendship, and enthusiasm, we have survived the trials of being a start-up business, and we are now busy and thriving. We hope you enjoy our work.

Our Whisky

Small batch. Our maximum output is 50 casks of ‘new make’ spirit per year, from our copper pot stills.

Gins & Vodka

We start with soft Cumbrian water, ferment a wash, then distil our own high-proof vodka, and then finally distil our Dry House Gin.
